Palm trees were selected to highlight the Travis Boulevard entrance to the City of Fairfield and to the Solano Mall, the city's regional commercial center.

Olive Trees, Pink-flowering Crape Myrtle Trees and colorful plant materials accent the Gateway Boulevard intersection at Travis Boulevard.

Haygood & Associates headed a team of consultants for the landscape, civil, and electrical engineering design. The scope of the work included the design of the perimeter and interior street landscaping around Solano Mall, the grading and drainage for the interior portion of the 57 acre facility, and the landscape design of Travis and Gateway Boulevards and the Travis Boulevard/I-80 interchange. At the time, the project was the largest landscape construction contract in northern California.
